Homework . . . and other News!

I am unable to send out homework packets this week. Unfortunately, the copy machine has been down and many parts have been ordered. So homework this week should consist of reading for at least 30 minutes and work on either KahnAcademy or Prodigy to get in some math work before next week's SC Ready Math test.

Speaking of tests, students are taking the SC Ready: ELA portion of their standardized tests Tuesday and Wednesday. One day will consist of the writing sample and writing questions, and the other day will primarily be reading questions. The ELA test will be using pencil and paper. Next week, students will take the SC Ready: Math test, but this test will be online.

Thursday, April 28th will be our final Curriculum Night. Curriculum Night will be 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm. We have so much we could share that it has been difficult to nail down specifics. The next day, Friday, April 29th is a half-day. EdVenture will be coming out to the classroom that morning to video tape some promotional videos they are making in anticipation of the Maker Faire on Saturday, May 21st.

Here is some additional information:
- May 9th - May 13th is the Center for Inquiry 20th Anniversary Celebration. You will get specific details in Center Connections.
- Friday, May 20th will be our final 5th grade Friday gathering. Some time during that week we will have an all school share fair of things students have made during explorations.
- Splash Day is Friday, May 27th.
